Maryvale Private Hospital

Viatek Technology, a provider of information technology and communications business solutions, has announced the signing of a multi-year IT managed services contract with Maryvale Private Hospital located in Gippsland, Victoria.

Melbourne and Gippsland, 20 August 2020 – Viatek Technology, a provider of information technology and communications business solutions, has announced the signing of a multi-year IT managed services contract with Maryvale Private Hospital located in Gippsland, Victoria. 

Viatek will partner with the hospital to provide IT core infrastructure, including IT service management, cybersecuritywireless networking and incident response with the aim of future proofing the organisation for optimal patient outcomes and supporting the delivery of continuous service improvement. 

Viatek will replace IT services from Latrobe Health Services. Latrobe Health is an Australian-owned not-for-profit registered private health insurer that owns the hospital and has provided IT core infrastructure and support to Maryvale Private for the past 16 years.  

“Our aim is to provide Maryvale Private Hospital with a modern IT environment supported by high availability, reliability and industry-leading service levels to ensure that both staff and visiting medical staff have access to the best IT infrastructure resulting in optimal patient care,” says Kamran Channa, Chief Information Officer, Latrobe Health Services. 

“As a result, we undertook a detailed request for proposal process during which time we conducted a market scan of reputable providers.  From the outset we could see that Viatek was committed to the region and was continually investing in local IT resources.  

“As a result, they were able to provide a quality service proposal that matched the specific requirements of the hospital.  Viatek’s industry-standard service levels aligned with our own vision of an accountable, outsourced model.” 

Viatek will provide expert managed services for the hospital’s 160 staff and will handle the organisation’s pending Office 365 migration.  It will also deploy a state-of-the-art wireless network based on HPE Aruba and ClearPass as well as WatchGuard firewall technology for both endpoint and perimeter-based security.   

Viatek will also deploy its IT Services Lifecycle Management process, which ensures quality deliverables from the outset through planning, designing, building, maintaining, improving and optimising IT infrastructure.

Maryvale Private Hospital is a 46-bed private acute medical and surgical hospital that’s known for its personalised care, friendly atmosphere and highly skilled staff.  

The hospital services the Gippsland municipalities of East Gippsland, Wellington, Latrobe, Baw Baw, South Gippsland and Bass Coast as well as Melbourne metropolitan areas. Latrobe Health Services established the hospital in 1991 to provide for the health care needs of the Gippsland community.
